Our People
The team at Peter Lehmann Wines has evolved around the sort of values that have led the company’s namesake, Peter Lehmann, to be known as the Baron of the Barossa.
Loyalty, hard work, talent, patience, team-work and recognition of other people’s talents are the values that define our team.
The four-person winemaking team is headed up by our extremely talented Chief Winemaker, Andrew Wigan. Each team member contributes to all of the wines in some way, as well contributing to all the major decisions.
The winemakers work closely with the Operations Manager and the excellent teams from the cellar, laboratory, maintenance and packaging departments. Our Grower Liaison Officer is a crucial point of contact between the other very important members of our team – our 185 independent grape growers.
The permanent workforce is supplemented by approximately 20 casuals who work with us in the cellar and the laboratory during vintage.
The wine quality lays the foundation for bringing the wine to market through the talent and creativity of the sales and marketing team.
The finance and administration team are located in the winery which encourages better communication and prompt follow-up for customers, sales and production teams as well as financial management of the operation.
