Doug Lehmann

Non Executive Deputy Chairman

Doug Lehmann, a sixth generation Barossan and eldest son of Peter Lehmann, was born in Angaston. The memories of his formative years are of growing up at Saltram Wines, playing in the cellars, and observing all facets of the winemaking process.

Starting his career in the wine industry in the Cellar at Saltram Wines, he took up the position of Winemaker & Manager at Basedow Wines in 1977. He went on to spend 14 years at Basedow and was instrumental in developing the famous 'White Burgundy' label.

Doug was appointed Managing Director of Peter Lehmann Wines in 1993, a position which he relished for over 15 years, until retirement in July 2010. Whilst not a winemaker or Managing Director anymore in title, Doug is now the Non Executive Deputy Chairman on the Peter Lehmann Wines Board and is proud of our success to date and of the committment and dedication of the staff who work for Peter Lehmann Wines.

Great employees, equals great wines from the Barossa, and quality will always be paramount at Peter Lehmann Wines.

Away from the wine industry Doug is a passionate motor car enthusiast and charity fundraiser, and has been a long time supporter of the Variety Bash, a childrens charity group.
